Next we took a local bus from Lamai Beach to Chaweng about 10 miles north. Got off on the tourist strip and it took us about an hour to find a reasonable place - The OP resort. About 100 steps from the urban blight of the tourist strip was one of the most peaceful and beautiful places we stayed at during the entire trip.........plants and flowers everywwhere and just another 100 paces or so to the beach. In the second pic I got some kind of creature - moth or hummingbird - you tell me! The 4th pic is a shot back at our beach from the kayak.......then the beach at very high tide - with a full moon! Next is our day trip north to the Big Bhudda and the cool little town of Bhoput. There's Ali out near the end of the very rickety pier and finally these street chefs ( a family we figured ) prepping our lunch in their outdoor kitchen.
