Part 7 - Khuala Lumpur

About a three hour bus ride from the Cameron highlands to KL - and what a pleasant surprise to arrive at such a large, green, clean, bustling cosmopolitan city. Many modern buildings mixed with the mosques and older more historical structures as well as areas like Chinatown and Little India.

Met up with Ali again and she had booked us some rooms in the backbacker(caucasian/touristy) area of the city at a place called the Original Backbackers Inn - very basic - again no aircon or hot water.

On our first day we ventured out by local bus to the far northeast area of the city to visit the Batu Caves - a geologically, as well as culturally impressive place. Later that night we, with new friend Emma(?) from South England, hiked around and eventually got to the KL Towers, where we took an elevator to the 63rd floor to see beautiful panoramic views of the city at night, including the Petronas Towers.

Other pics here include the guesthouse and my room, the circular 6 story mall at the base of the Petronas Towers, the night market and some of the modern architecture and mosques and the final few are of the KL Gardens.
