Part 10 - The Islands, snorkeling and sunset beach

The island/sunset boat tour was yet another coup on my journey.

We stopped at four small islands (can you guess which one is Chicken Island?) to do some snorkeling before arriving at one of the most romantic places/settings I have ever been (I should be so lucky!!). There we pulled out the beach mats and relaxed, took in a gorgeous sunset, had a couple of drinks and a great meal that our hosts cooked right there on the beach in these big old pots.

Then another short boat ride to a small island for a late night swim where there were these phosphorous organisms that lit up under the water as we swam around them - very cool! Other highlites of the day were of course the many and varied sea life we encountered - particularly a lion fish - very poisonous but very beautiful and all the wonderful people we met - great time!

One final note was the thousands on huge bats that flew for what seemed like 30 minutes from a nearby island - apparently a nightly journey to the pineapple groves around Krabi in search of insects.

Well I thought I'd start my next posting with something a little different to see how it goes........a video clip of the start of our island/sunset tour to the islands around Krabi!
